Mobian Mayhem V0.5 Update
The spring 2026 playtest pass that added movement, finishers, and the jump Super — dated so old clips stop lying to you.
Creators labeled a spring 2026 playtest pass V0.5. The developers did not always stamp that number on the Roblox page. Functionally it is the bundle that added boost, boost clash, rail grinding, a Sonic Flare finisher, a jump-awakening variant, Shadow’s time-control conversion, and a faster radius Super follow-up. This page is the changelog. How-tos live under boost and rails and awakening.
If a February clip disagrees with a May clip, believe May. Then check whether the live title still says Rework Countdown.
Movement that was not in the first public weekend
- Boost — hold run for about five seconds. Not a separate key on the official control card.
- Boost clash — both players boosting, collide head-on. Side clips do not count.
- Rails — jump on. Walking beside the rail does nothing.
These three are why chases feel like a Sonic stage instead of a TSB plaza. Details and a practice loop are on the boost and rails guide. Controls still lists M1, dash, block, shift lock, emote wheel. V0.5 did not replace that card; it stacked on top.
Sonic changes
- Sonic Flare finisher — Flare was already the confirm shove to your right. The finisher made greedy players greedier. Keep the side dash. Lab on Sonic combos.
- Jump awakening — hold jump, press Super. Faster presentation, rare voice line.
- Radius Super follow-up — Super Cyclone / “Super Cyclops” in creator talk. Press again for a faster second grab that can scoop a pack.
- Anti-team later landed on Sonic too, so stacks are not only Shadow’s problem. See Sonic.
Shadow changes
- Time Control rework — first tool can finisher, then convert into a multi-target time stop (community testing: up to five).
- Anti-team cinematic — short, designed answer to a sandwich.
- Chaotic Burst hold did not become a tap. Mashers still whiff.
Full timing: Shadow guide and the Shadow roster page.
What V0.5 did not add
- Knuckles. Still upcoming as early-access on the full drop.
- Metal Sonic as a selectable kit.
- Public codes.
- A dedicated script scene. Remotes changed; pastes from March are already wrong.
- Map switching to Green Hill. Still one city stage with rails and walls.
How to use this page
Read it once. Then spend a session on boost and rails and one Super from awakening. If you only wanted the date, pair this with playtest history (March windows) and the updates hub.
The embed is a real May 2026 showcase, not a fake ID. Older “final update” titles on YouTube were not 1.0. They were this pass, or a clip of this pass, before the countdown branding. When the overhaul ships, this page stays as the reason your old muscle memory includes a five-second run.
Who should care right now
If you bounced off the March playtest because Shadow felt unfinished, V0.5 is the answer you actually wanted. If you bounced off because you hate cutscenes, nothing here deletes finishers — it just adds a clash and a rail. If you only have one session before the rework clock moves, spend it on boost timing and one Super, not on hunting a code that still does not exist.
Roster pages did not gain a third card. Players is still Sonic and Shadow. The tier list letters did not flip. Movement just made Sonic’s S make more sense, and anti-team made Shadow’s A make more sense in a duo lobby.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is V0.5 the full rework?
No. It is a named playtest pass. The live title is still Rework Countdown.
Did V0.5 add a third character?
No. Sonic and Shadow only. Knuckles remains a full-drop early-access kit.
Where do I learn boost clash?
On the boost and rails guide. This page is the changelog, not the lab.
Are there codes from V0.5?
None verified. The codes hub stays empty until Discord posts a real string.
